From the Project Home Page dropdown menu, click Cost/Estimate.  Note:  The Cost Estimate will display.

 

Cost Estimate

Overview of topic.

This function enables team members to update the Cost Estimate.  Note: The initial Cost Estimate screen will only display lines where values have been entered in the Update process.

  1. Click Update button at the bottom of the screen.   Note: The entire cost estimate screen will display. Additionally a red flag icon displays when an update has been made. Hover over flag to display the person and date the update was made.

  2. Select the Estimate Type from the .

  3. Enter the Completion Date for Escalation by either clicking on and selecting date or enter date in .   Note: The date entered is for reporting purposes only. The estimate does not re-calculate in accordance with any escalation factors when a future date is entered.

  4. Enter values in Estimate and/or Approved Budget, and include any free text comment in Comments.
    Note: Values can be entered directly into the subtotals and/or Total Capital fields.

  5. Click Calculate to populate the subtotals, Total Capital, GST, Total and Budget Variance.
    Note: If the Cost Estimate is being updated with new values and the Calculate button is clicked the subtotals and totals fields do not re-calculate. A warning message will appear at the top of the screen as follows:

    WARNING The following totals are invalid: Total Capital Est, Total Capital Budget.
    To re-calculate clear all the subtotals and totals and click
    Calculate.

  6. Click Save, or click Cancel to discard changes.

  7. If Save is selected a popup window titled Update Brief/Plan will display.  If a Baseline has not been created a will display for selection.   Note:  Only select if creating a Baseline. Once the Baseline has been selected this option will not display.

  8. Select Reasons for Change using the .

  9. If applicable enter Comments to support the reasons in the .

  10. Click Save to save cost estimate changes.   Note: The screen will display the initial Cost Estimate screen.

    OR

click Cancel to continue cost estimate changes.
