Project Brief
Relevant and appropriate responses to the brief questions provide the foundations for a comprehensive project brief suitable for project start-up and the initial briefing of professional design teams.
The briefing process is designed to gain from the client all known information relating to the project to assist architects and designers to formulate appropriate options and solutions for consideration. The project brief comprises a series of questions, the responses to which provide a written statement detailing the client's expectations for the functions and delivery of a proposed new building or redevelopment project.
Once completed, the Government Manager/Executive must approve the Project Brief before it can be released to DPTI and viewed by the appropriate Account Manager for approval or return for further information.
When the brief is finalised for registration it is registered by DPTI, which creates an official project. Project roles are created and assigned to team members and a project home page is created where the brief/plan can be updated.
AutoSave: BPIMS incorporates a feature that saves your work at intervals throughout the brief questions; that is, when clicking on a button and selecting from a list and/or making a selection from some dropdown lists (e.g. when selecting a person and/or role). The system will refresh with the selected response and automatically save the page. A message will appear at the bottom of the page “This page was AutoSaved at 3:15 PM".
Navigation: The brief has a navigation map on the left-hand side of the page that allows movement through the brief. The map should ONLY be used when viewing pages, as any changes made WILL NOT be saved since the last AutoSave. The “List” button at the bottom of the page returns to the Briefed Projects list, while the “Previous” and “Next” buttons will navigate to the previous and next pages in the brief. Clicking on any of these three buttons will save changes made on the current page.
